The old top cabin high up the slopes of Giebmegáisi, built in 1962, used to be the highest situated building in Sweden, having been superceded by the New top cabin up on the top plateau in 2016. It can still, however, provide shelter to hikers who have been surprised by nasty weather, or just want to rest for a while on their way up or down. It used to have a companion 150 meters to the west, built in 1983, but as that building was dreadfully deteriorated it was burnt down (intentionally) in the autumn of 2018.
